Instant Tanning Lotions

With the incidences of Skin Cancer on the rise, more people are looking for alternate ways to get that Beautiful, Bronze tan, without the risk. Many people are turning to Instant, Sunless Tanning Lotions, for safe, quick, and beautiful tans. Here are some things to consider when using these Lotions.

  • Sunless Lotions generally do not protect against UV Rays. If you want to use a sunless lotion while out in the sun, you should also wear a sunscreen.
  • Sunless Tanners use DHA, which is dihydroxyacetone to color your skin. This also will stain other things like your hands and your clothes. When you apply the Instant Tan Lotion, make sure to immediately wash your hands, and keep it away from your clothes until dried. Sunless sprays tend to dry quicker, so less likely to stain your clothes.
  • Just like a natural tan, a sunless tan will fade. So to keep a consistent tan you need to reapply the lotion once or twice a week.
  • Apply the lotion to clean, smooth skin. Before applying the sunless lotion, take a shower, shave, and exfoliate, so that you have the smoothest skin possible. This will allow the lotion to go on smoothly and not create any dark spots. Be careful in areas where the skin is a little rough, like at the knees and elbows. Apply gently in this area, so the lotion does not clump and create dark spots.

These sunless lotions are safe to use every day if you like and can be used all year long. With consistent use, your new tan will appear realistic. Sunless tanners, such as Idol Tan, allow you to purchase a lifetime supply, giving you a great price for a continuous tan.  These Instant Tan lotions can help you temporarily cover tan lines, you just need to be careful in how you apply the lotion, covering only the areas needing more color.

Salon Spray Tanning

Salons offer spray tanning, for a very even tan. These will be more expensive than home administered products, and fade as quickly as home tans. Since this would need to be applied once or twice a week, salon costs could add up. But if you have a special day coming up, like your wedding, you may want to pay for the extra care taken in the application of the sunless spray.
